UV-C Disinfection Provides Safe Water for Large Facilities During Boil Water Alerts

UV-C Water Disinfection Provides Safe Large Facilities During Boil Water Alerts

Why Choose UV-C?

Safe, potable water is a necessity in facilities that care for or accommodate people. Boil water alerts can be more than a nuisance in these locations. Dire consequences can occur when proper disinfection processes do not happen. Using a UV-C purifier rises above the other recommended disinfection methods of boiling water and chemical disinfection — making it best for large facilities during boil water alerts. Virtually all microorganisms are susceptible to germicidal UV rays. Read our FAQ: How UV Water Purifiers Work to learn more.

UV-C Disinfects Water in Various Large Facilities During Boil Water Alerts

UV-C Protects Clients and Patients in Various Large Facilities During Boil Water Alerts

Hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes, and incarceration centers must have safe water for the well-being of patients and clients. For apartment or condo complexes, hotels, and resorts, on-site water disinfection can differentiate these large facilities during boil water alerts, making them stand out from the competition. Clientele will be attracted to knowing that a boil water notice will not impact their daily routines. Universities can also gain peace of mind for their employees and students.

Sanitron® and Megatron® UV-C Water Disinfection Systems are Ideal for Large Applications

Our SANITRON® and MEGATRON® models have integrated features for optimum safety and ease of maintenance. Purifiers use STER-L-RAY® UV-C Lampsopen_in_new that are made in the USA. UV-C lamp replacement is only required about once a year or every 10,000 hours of operation. UV-C lamp change and quartz sleeve cleanings can occur without full system shut-down, keeping continuous disinfected water supplied. An integrated drain fitting allows you to easily drain water from the purifiers. A sight port plug indicates the lamps are working. No specialized training or tools are required for lamp change and maintenance.

Sanitron® UV Water Purifiers (3–416 GPM)

Sanitron UV-C Water Disinfection was Designed with a Modular Platform in Mind

Our SANITRON® S2400C (40 gallons per minute) model was initially designed with the modular design platform in mind — allowing for 80 gallons per minute treatment with two purifiers used together, 160 gallons per minute with four purifiers, and so on. Large facilities can benefit from its disinfecting capacity during boil water alerts.

While not all applications require it, optional monitors provide an intensity reading, along with optional accessories that provide an audible alert, water shut-down, or a combination of both. A patented, dual-action wiper mechanism makes quartz sleeve cleaning a simple task. Models S37C, S50C, and S2400C are certified to NSF®/ANSI 61 and 372open_in_new.

Megatron® UV Water Disinfection (90–450 GPM)

Megatron UV-C Water Disinfection Models Plumb Together to Process Thousands of Gallons

Our MEGATRON® UV-C Water Disinfection System has a modular design that makes it a great solution for large facilities during boil water alerts. Models process between 90 and 450 GPM, and multiple units can plumb together for thousands of gallons processed. A remote enclosure with an HMI touchscreen provides easy monitoring and controlling, and can integrate seamlessly into building management systems. MEGATRON® models also feature a manual or automatic wiper that can be easily programmed to handle quartz sleeve cleaning.

The keys for successful UV-C disinfection are a quality constructed system, the correct installation, consistent maintenance, and the proper size system for your water volume. Our UV Application Specialists can assist you in selecting the right system for your needs, giving you peace of mind when the next boil water alert is issued.
